All About That Matcha

Hi, it's me again! I'm Sum Sum from KL :)
Can't remember me? You can review this post: Top 8 dessert places in Kuala Lumpur

For this post, I'm gonna share with you everything and anything related to matcha, which is also known as green tea. So, if you're a huge Matcha fan, be prepared for a great time!

1. Matcha Parfait

Imagine this: a layer of kanten jelly, whipped cream, soft-served vanilla ice-cream, red bean paste, Hoji syrup and corn flakes. They give the perfect texture to this parfait! They also have roasted matcha parfaits, coffee infused matcha parfait and many other desserts. This is a must visit place for matcha lovers!

2. Matcha Mille Crepe

Yeah, this is from Malacca's famous Nadeje crepe cake shop. I believe that if we had the opportunity to, most of us would be willing to drive all the way to Malacca just to have their mille crepe! Haha. Granted, there's nothing groundbreaking about it, but Nadeje is still the best! :)

Nadeje Cake Shop

Jalan 19/1, Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

3. Matcha Ice-cream

What makes Kindori so special is that the ice-cream is made of 100% fresh milk. Matcha is imported from Japan and it is used to make Kindori. Macha is rated the No. 1 flavour in Japan! The strong and dense green tea makes this ice-cream really special :D

4. Matcha Swiss Roll

The swiss rolls from RT Pastry are always fresh and delicious! I personally do not like too much of cream filling. This swiss roll suits my taste buds best so far because it doesn't contain excessive creams. It also has red bean in it, giving the swiss rolls an explosion of flavor :)

5. Matcha Souffle

Me and my friend were very unsatisfied with the portion of this dessert when this was served.
"What? This small lil thing cost RM16++?" *grimaces*
Anyway, the souffle was steaming hot, with a delightful crust outside and spongy filling inside. It crumbles down instantly after we cracked open its crusty top. This dessert is not overly sweet, the macha flavour is a bit light. But overall, it was good. It's worth a try after all!

6. Matcha Bingsu

Bene's Bingsu is the most trending dessert the market, standing out in it's taste and style by using the best premium Caffebene ingredients. Macha bingsu is served in a huge cup with macha ice cream, topped with various nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts, pecans) and red bean paste. If you are not keen with consuming so much calories, requesting for no cream will be a good idea to avoid that guilt feeling of eating too much :P

7. Matcha Desserts

This photo is taken from MOF's official Facebook page. A few years ago, MOF only served desserts but now they do serve main courses too. I've tried the Macha Zen, which is a low-fat Japanese gelato with hokkaido red bean paste and Japanese dumplings. It tasted relatively sweet for me but I enjoy the Macha ice-cream :P

8. Matcha Bread

This matcha bread from Lavender Bakery is very fresh. It is filled with a generous amount of red bean and pistachio nuts. Furthermore, the package contains two slices each, which you can just grab it for breakfast! :)

9. Matcha Latte

Cafe Olle is run by a Korean owner, who specializes in coffee and healthy sandwiches. Instead of having your regular Starbucks, why not try something new like their green tea latte. Why? because this latte is Korean! It is frothy, smooth and milky :)

10. Matcha Smoothies

To be frank, I have not tried this Matcha Smoothie! A friend who know that I'm a matcha addict, tempted me with this tasty-looking picture. It is considered a highly recommended dessert. I should check it out one day!
