SPM Physics 2015 Paper 1 Answers

I must praise the effort of the setter to think of high quality questions which are a bit different from previous past years and yet can still test students the concept of physics accurately.
There are a few questions a find it amusing but i will post it up later after you check the SPM 2015 Physics Paper 1.

All the best in Chemistry SPM 2015 and check back for Add Math SPM 2015 solutions soon.

  4. #39 should be C ? Why B? The bulb should be blown out due to high voltage.

    1. Yes I concur.
When the voltage in a circuit or part of it is raised above its upper design limit, this is known as overvoltage. The conditions may be hazardous. Depending on its duration, the overvoltage event can be transient—a voltage spike—or permanent, leading to a power surge.

When voltage spikes from 24V to a whopping 120V, the coiled wire in the bulb will melts and blows.

And btw, a transformer 'transforms' voltage, not 'current'.

For those wondering input power is equal to output power case, go check out on inductive resistance.

  6. I feel #11 is A. When talking about soles of shoes, we tend to think of friction, which is a force

  10. the bulb blows up . it exceeds its capacity
q10 i think its D since the question says the material and diameter of the spring f and h are the same although the diagram might be contridicting . i think they r the same length as well

    1. for question 10, the question say diameter of the spring is same, F and H have different diameter of coil, the spring's diameter is the same, when a spring with same length and bigger diameter of coil, extension is greater

  11. For number 26, the answer should be A, not A and C because the angle of oscillation will only affect the period by a very very small amount and is almost negligible. So the best answer should be A.Even the formula for period is 2(pi)(square root of (l/g)) which does not include any angles in it.Here is a website to a more detailed explanation : https://www.teachengineering.org/view_lesson.php?url=collection/cub_/lessons/cub_mechanics/cub_mechanics_lesson09.xml

  15. For number 26, answer is A. Period of oscillation for pendulum = 2pi x (square root of (l/g)), meaning that period is affected only by l, the length of pendulum.
